My name is Della Gregg, Sigma Chi Lambda Iota Sweetheart 2014. I’m honored and fortunate enough to have been chosen to represent a group of men that I hold so close to my heart. I’m currently a recent graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice as well as a minor is Sociology and Anthropology. I expect to be attending graduate school soon to obtain my Masters degree in Forensic Psychology.
Attending FIU has been given me many opportunities to get involved on campus socially and professionally. I’m a proud sister of Delta Phi Epsilon and had the opportunity to be homecoming coordinator for a year through my sorority. I was a Student Ambassador of the University for two years, participated in Relay for Life for three years, and interned at the Center for Children and Families for the past year as a Research Assistant.
I had the pleasure of meeting Sigma Chi’s back in Fall semester 2012, and I must say, it was love at first sight. The more of them I got to meet, the more I kept coming around and ultimately found my boyfriend as well as my closest friends in this fraternity. The values and ideals of this organization are unlike any other. These men uphold the values of justice, friendship and learning with the utmost pride and for this reason, as well as many other reasons, I’m humbled to have the opportunity to stand beside them at every crossroad.
Because of this fraternity, I can sincerely say I enjoyed my undergraduate years to the fullest. In three short years, the Lambda Iota chapter of Sigma Chi has demonstrated what they have to offer to the FIU community and I wholeheartedly believe they will continue to progress with the years to come. After all, no one can keep the best from rising.
